Morsom - wheaten dog
Morsom's arrival during the school half term meant that we had to miss out on one of our usual boat holidays. . It was just as well as mum was having trouble coming into full labour, there were not enough hormones from just one puppy. . In the end Morsom was born by Ceasarean. . Being an only puppy has also meant he has not had the sort of play we would normaly expect a youngster to get. . Mum plays a little but most of the time he is with the old man Thyme whom he seems to love. . Despite Thyme's debilitated condition he does his best to play. . When Morsom was a few weeks old we had a new Hearing Dog puppy, a Swedish Vallhund. . She was bigger than him at first and acted the bully, the tables were turned a little later and she became wary of him. . There was a shortage of puppies in the U.K. show ring in 1999 so he did not have any competion to judge him against. . I do not think he was at his best as he does not shine in the ring on his own, he looks better when there are other dogs to keep his attention. . He has not had any prizes withheld however so he qualified for Crufts 2000 and was best homebred puppy of the year. He is now maturing nicely and we can only wait to see how sucessful he is.
