Instigator - wheaten
dog
'Stig' was the pick of the litter. . A family from
Spalding fell in love with him, and nothing would persuade them
to choose one of the others. . In his youth he had the
opportunity to herd sheep, but now spends most of his time close
to home. . Although lost to the show ring, in due course he sired
an 'I' litter of his own.
Issy Brough - wheaten dog
Brough was the smallest of the litter, but
he made up in character what he lacked in size. . His new owner
lived near Wimbledon Common, so he had plenty of lovely walks. . Later he and his
owner moved to Devon, and he ended his days as a country dog,
enjoying all the new smells and sights around his new home.
Ista - wheaten bitch
After an unfortunate start, (she broke one
of her front legs when only five weeks old,) Ista had a very
comfortable life as the beloved pet of a couple in Surrey. . Later she was
joined by another buhund to keep her company.
Golden Icon - wheaten dog
Ike first went to a lady in London, but
this didn't work so he came back and joined Olaine with our
friends in Newbury. . He used to come tearing in from the garden, skid across
the kitchen floor and crash into the table leg. . We later
wondered if this habit contributed to his early death, aged four,
from a brain tumor.
Imperial - wheaten dog
Impy became an ecclesiastical dog when he joined a rectory in St.
Albans, and later on Jersey. Of all the litter he was least
suited to this occupation, being quite prepared to take a dislike
to some people and to some dogs.
