The G litter

Miss Glynt, Edith and Gift (left to right)Sire - Glyntirion Brynge

Dam - Knytshall Inka

Born - March 1996

The observant amongst you may have notice a convention for the naming of our dogs which breaks down for the first litter and for this one. ..This litter was named in memory of the Late Edith Outram. ..Edith wanted Black Buhunds to continue in the U.K. and gave us her black dog shortly before she died.

Miss Glynt - Wheaten bitch
Known as Bryna (after her father) to her new owner, Miss Glynt has gone to live in Canterbury. . Her new owner keeps in touch and regularly sends us photographs. . She had a litter in 1999 and one of her puppies has been shown by the owner of the stud dog

Gift - Weaten bitch
Shortly after the puppies had been born we recieved a phone call from Spalding to hear that their grandmother (Stria known as Inca) had passed away. . Gift was there at the right time to move in where her grandparents had been and her grandfather still lived.

Edith - Black bitch
Edith was the last to be born, we had mated black to black in the hope of black puppies we got just the one. ..Before they were born we had decided to call a black bitch Edith and here she was. ..We wanted a black bitch to show but had promised one to Ann Mole so we told her she could have Edith, she declined the offer and Edith stayed with us. ..Being born during Crufts was perhaps auspicious and Edith has had a successful show career. ..The first hints of this came at the National Working Breeds open show in January 1997 when she won her first Best of Breed, and went on to be reserve best puppy in show. ..Her first Challenge Certificate (CC) came a few months later at the West of England Ladies Kennel Association (WELKS) show. ..This was her first show as a Junior but immediately disqualified her from post graduate classes. ..Despite this handicap she went on to earn her Junior Warrant. .Edith's second CC came at Crufts 1998 where she was also Best of Breed. ..Winning at Crufts gave us a real adrenaline high for the day but it was wearing off when the time came to go into the group leaving Jacquie feeling tired. ..Edith continued to win her classes but the magic third CC eluded her. ..When it came to the challenge at a championship show Jacquie always seemed to be on edge and Edith sensing it was not at her best. ..At theWelsh Kennel Club show (WKC) in August we work for Hearing Dogs manning the unentered dogs tents so showing was only more thing to think about, we did not know if the judge liked Black Buhunds. ..Perhaps this allowed Jacquie to relax a bit more and this transferred though the lead giving Edith the necessary extra edge, anyway she got her third CC to qualify for the title Champion. .Edith is still in the show ring but now she is working for Hearing Dogs as a demonstration dog and a collecting dog as well.
